‘From Street to Studio’ and ‘A Photographer’s War’
Edward Chambré Hardman
Wed 18 Mar– Sat 31 Oct 2015
The Hardman's House

Explore the contrasting sides of this house: neat, professional, spacious business rooms versus the cluttered, cramped living quarters of the renowned portrait photographers, Edward and Margaret Chambré Hardman. Two photographic exhibitions can be viewed as part of the guided tour along with equipment used to take and develop their iconic images

From Street to Studio commemorates 50 years since Hardman’s retirement from his photography business and showcases some of the best of Hardman’s photographs, of people who inspired his work. From glamorous studio portraits of Liverpool socialites to the dramatic street photography of people and places that made up Hardman’s Liverpool, including the iconic photograph the ‘Birth of the Ark Royal’
