ADAM LEE (CHAIR)

Adam Lee is a freelance photographer based in Liverpool. His personal and commissioned work has been exhibited across the North West and he has been published in national newspapers and books. Adam works regularly delivering participatory photography across the UK.

ANNA TAYLOR

Anna is based at Redeye, the Photographers Network, where she works on development and membership. Since an MA in arts criticism and management, she has worked as a freelance writer and had exhibitions and press roles with various UK galleries, organisations and projects, including Ikon Gallery, Birmingham and Art Sheffield. She is currently writer and co-curator on a collaborative arts project in Calderdale, which explores sense of place, social enterprise for the arts and collaborative practice.

COLIN HUGHES (TREASURER)

Colin is a Management Accountant at the University of Liverpool, where he has worked in a number of related roles over the last 11 years. He is currently playing a key part in the strategic development of the University’s student residences and commercial businesses.

JOHN SUTCLIFFE

John is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Surveyor and is Managing Director of Sutcliffe, a multi-disciplinary construction practice which he founded in 1985. He is Chair of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and is the past Chair of the North West Group of the Association of Consulting Engineers. He is also Chair of the Trustees at SAFE, a social enterprise in Bootle and Chair of Homebaked Community Land Trust based in Anfield.

LAWRENCE GEORGE GILES

Lawrence is a visual artist and Senior Lecturer in photography at the University of Salford. Lawrence has held various roles since joining the university in 1999 including Programme Leader of its BA (Hons) Photography, MA Communication Design and MA Graphic Design courses. His academic and practical research interests focus on the photograph as an aide memoire, its significance as both personal and cultural mnemonic and the subjectivity of our own remembering.

LORENZO FUSI

Lorenzo Fusi is an Italian curator and art historian. He moved to Liverpool in 2009, when he was appointed as the International Curator of the Liverpool Biennial. He curated the 2010 and 2012 reiterations of the biennial exhibition. During this time, he became first involved with Open Eye Gallery as a result of the institutional collaborations and cultural partnerships that characterise the UK biennial from its inception. Prior to this appointment, Lorenzo was Chief Curator at Palazzo delle Papesse and sms contemporanea (Siena, Italy). Lorenzo took his post of Director at Open Eye Gallery in 2013. Since 2014 he is also the Artistic Director of PIAC (Prize for International Contemporary Art) at the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco.

TADHG DEVLIN

Tadhg Devlin is originally from Dublin but left Ireland in 1993 to study photography in Cornwall. After completing his studies he worked at Magnum Photos office in London, working in the extensive archive and also with a number of photographers on assignments. Since leaving Magnum he worked as a freelance photographer in London for over ten years and is currently a lecturer in photography at Hugh Baird College in Bootle, Liverpool. He is currently working on a long term project examining the Irish diaspora experience in Liverpool.

TONY CEARNS

As a Chartered Accountant Tony has held a number of company directorships and senior management positions in the Food, Retail, Financial Services and Education sectors. As well as running a consultancy business, Tony is a keen documentary photographer. He spends the rest of his time writing about photography, wilderness walking with his Australian Shepherd dog and fly-fishing for trout in remote small streams.
