Featured: Diane Bloomfield
Fri 15 May- Sun 31 May 2015

In a new Transatlantic partnership, we see the latest competition work submitted to one of the photographic centres of the world, Texas (home to Fotofest). Centring on non-standard processes, Alternative Processes sits beside local student shows, where we consider techniques, idea development and image making in a group show.

Selecting from the competition finalists, LOOK/15 Director, Emma Smith, has curated a small show of 12 images, relating to LOOK/15:Exchange (and in particular women, migration and memory) from artists: Anne Eder, Elizabeth Bauer, Bob Kiss, Nancy Goodrich, Cynthia Morgan Batmanis, Jamie Tuttle, Diane Fenster, Cotton Miller, Tony Celentano, Diana Bloomfield and Ken Jackson. This works will sit alongside student shows, presented from Hugh Baird and City of Liverpool College to see what techniques are being used and whether we find exchanges between ideologies, concepts and approaches.

This is a partnership project between Hugh Baird, the Texas Photographic Society and WarpLiverpool

Also showcasing as part of this exhibition:

no pain, no awareness, and no memory by Lawrence George Giles

Created from a series of found 35mm negatives circa 1960’s in Liverpool, and displayed as a film based circular narrative no pain, no awareness, and no memory reflects upon the process by which photographs prompt memories and the subjectivity of our own remembering.
